Dona Dona (多娜多娜)這首民謠，相信對於全世界各地的人來說，都是非常耳熟能詳的歌曲，但是真正了解這首歌曲起源的人並不多。其實這首歌最原始的版本是在二次世界 大戰期間，以 Yiddish(意帝緒語)這種德國的猶太人語言所寫成的，這首歌曲的原始義涵是在諷刺當年德國的納粹主義者在屠殺猶太人的瘋狂行徑，歌詞的內容描述著一 隻名叫 Dona(多娜)的小牛來影射無助的猶太人，正被載往市集販賣屠殺時是如此的悲傷與無奈，但是風兒(納粹主義者)卻在牠身邊高聲嘲笑著，而農夫(那押解猶 太人的納粹爪牙)則對牠說不要抱怨，誰叫你是一隻小牛呢。這首歌後來直到 1960 年代的時候，才被翻譯成英文版並且陸續由幾位美國的歌手所演唱，從此開始流行至全世界成為世界民謠。
然 而，隨著時代的變遷，當年的納粹組織和共產勢力如今皆已先後瓦解，但是這樣的悲劇卻從來未曾停止過，而且仍然是一天到晚發生在你我的身邊。有多少孤苦無助 的生靈受著那非人道般的凌虐與屠殺，最後只是為了成為我們每天所享用的那豐盛美食。那數不盡的無辜生命，在那昏暗髒亂的屠宰場裡，那悽慘的哀嚎生此起彼落 的廠房中，被慘不忍睹的虐殺，牠們在自己的鮮血中無助地哭嚎乃至氣盡，牠們這一切的犧牲所換來的，就只是為了讓我們可以快樂地坐在餐桌前，與家人或朋友一 起享用那美味的佳餚。
